Thomas als Moderator, dieses Thema wurde besonders 2004 aktuell. Thomas übernahm die Moderation der Sendereihe Best of Formel Eins mit abschließender Abendshow sowie die Moderationen verschiedener Sendungen zum Eurovision Song Contest. Doch das war nicht alles - und vor allen Dingen beileibe nicht der Anfang!

One of the main topics in 2004 was that Thomas forced his work as a TV-presenter! 
Thomas was the host of Best of Formel Eins as well as of different shows concerning the Eurovision Song Contest. However, it was not the beginning!

Die Tour wird die Akteure durch ganz Rheinland-Pfalz führen:

Best of Formel Eins

Mit Best of Formel Eins moderierte Thomas zum 1. Mal eine Sendereihe. Kabel 1 hatte ihn zunächst für 7 Folgen engagiert.

Am 19.05.2004 ging es los und Thomas präsentierte jeden Sonntag Abend das Beste aus der Kultserie Formel Eins. Und das, was in den 80ern die Zuschauer vor den Fernseher lockte, funktionierte auch diesmal wieder! Kabel 1 erreichte einen Marktanteil von bis zu 7,2% bei den 14-49-Jährigen. Auch die abschließende Abendshow war ein voller Erfolg. Die knapp 2,5-Stündige Show hatte bei der werberelevanten Gruppe einen Marktanteil von 9,5%.

Klar, dass Kabel 1 dies zu würdigen wusste und Thomas' Vertrag verlängerte: Im Herbst 2004 begann die 2. Staffel, im Frühjahr 2005 die 3. und im Herbst 2005 folgte die 4. Staffel von Best of Formel Eins starten.

Best of Formel Eins brought Thomas the first own TV-serial. In May 2004 the first shows were broadcasted. Each Sunday evening Thomas presented the best of the 80ies serial Formel Eins. Formel Eins - this was the most popular music clip show in Germany (1983-1990). However, not only in the 80ies it was very successful, even now too! Up to 7.2% share of the market in the class of 14-49 year old people were achieved. The final show brought also a big success with 9.5% share of the market. Kabel 1 reacted and engaged Thomas for further shows. Therefore, Best of Formel Eins was continued in Autumn 2004, Spring 2005 and Autumn 2005.

Eurovision Song Contest

Thomas und der Eurovision Song Contest. Lange dachte man, damit wird Thomas nie was zu tun haben, doch 2003/2004 änderte sich dies. Als Stefan Raab für seine Sendung TV total die Gelegenheit bekam, einen möglichen Kandidaten für den Grand Prix zu casten, suchte er eine kompetente Jury. Diese fand er in Joy Flemming und Thomas. Thomas, der bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt sämtliche Angebote zu Castingshows abgesagt hatte, war mit Spaß dabei und letztlich stand Max als SSDSGPS-Gewinner fest. Als er dann im deutschen Entscheid für Istanbul nominiert wurde, war die Sensation perfekt. - Dachte man, doch weit gefehlt. Für Thomas Anders-Fans ging es noch weiter: Thomas bekam vom NDR das Angebot die entsprechenden Abendshows zu moderieren. Ohne groß nachzudenken, sagte er zu und fand sich somit erst im NDR-Abendprogramm mit der Sendung Wer gewinnt Istanbul? und später im ARD-Abendprogramm mit den Sendungen Countdown Eurovision und Grand Prix-Party wieder. Und wo er gerade dabei war, durfte er während des eigentlichen Grand Prix dann auch noch gleich Deutschlands Punkte nach Istanbul senden.....

At 20:15 the show "Countdown Eurovision" started. The first act was Thomas himself, performing Tonight Is The Night. Afterwards, acts like Wonderwall, Rosenstolz, Orange Blue, and Yvonne Catterfeld followed*. All of them were interviewed by Thomas. Furthermore, there was a live-interview with Max and Stefan Raab in Istanbul. The complete show took place in Schmidts Tivoli. Only at the end of the show Thomas and the artist went outside. At the Reeperbahn they performed together with the audienance Can't Wait Until Tonight. The duet of Thomas and the singer of Orange Blue were cancelled - the reason we do not know.

At 21:00 the Eurovision Song Contest started and there were only two live calls to Germany. Once to catch the really fantastic atmosphere in Hamburg and secondly when Thomas had to present the German votes:
01 point  Croatia - 02 points Spain - 03 points Sweden - 04 points Poland - 05 points Albania - 06 points Ukraine - 07 points Great Britain - 08 points Cyprus - 10 points Serbia-Montenegro - 12 points Turkey.

When the Song Contest was over, the show "Grand Prix-Party" started. Thomas presented live from the Reeperbahn acts like Rosenstolz, The Scorpions, Orange Blue, Elli, and Yvonne Catterfeld. Furthermore, he interviewed Jan Feddersen (German expert for the Grand Prix and interviewer of Thomas' taz-interview from the 07.05.), Annette Frier (moderator of SSDSGPS), Stefan Raab and Max in Istanbul. At the end of the show Yvonne Catterfeld said Thank you to Thomas and announced his performance of Night to Remember.

Concerning Thomas' moderation one can say that he did a very good job!!!
At the beginning (after his performance of Tonight Is The Night) he were without any notes and lost once words, but this happens and he said "Sorry, I'm so nervous". Later on he had his notes and everything went well. We really hope that it was not his last job!

*Not given in the order of performance! - Because I cannot remember! :-D

Top Of The Pops

Im November 2003 passierte etwas, womit kein Thomas Anders-Fan ernsthaft gerechnet hatte. Thomas durfte die Co-Moderation der RTL-Sendung Top Of The Pops moderieren. An der Seite von Ole Tillmann stellte er beim Bohlen-Haussender die gerade aktuellen Chartshits vor. Nebenbei präsentierte er auch seinen 1. Solo-Hit nach Modern Talking, Teil 2, Independent Girl.

In November 2003 something happend that was not thought to be ever happening. Thomas was allowed to co-present the RTL-Show Top Of The Pops. As a partner of Ole Tillmann he announced the actual hits in Germany - and this on Bohlens "house" channel RTL! Furthermore, he performed his 1. solo-hit after the 2nd split of Modern Talking, Independent Girl.

Die Guinness-Show

Im September 2002 war Thomas alleine zu Gast in der Guinness Show. Thomas, der im Eierschaumschlagen Dieter schlug und seitdem Weltrekordinhaber ist, durfte Franziska Schenk die Moderation eines Rekordversuches abnehmen. 

In September 2002 The Guinness Show invited Thomas for a short co-moderation. Thomas presented the try to open coco nuts with the bare hand.

Kanal 10-Kochclub

Sein Debüt als Fernsehmoderator hatte Thomas beim Koblenzer Regionalsender Kanal 10. Dort durfte er im Sommer 1997 eine Kochsendung moderieren. In der knapp 30-minütigen Sendung ging es u.a. um Hummerkrabben, Pouladenbrustfilets und Eierlikörschmand.

On TV Thomas was the first time a presenter for the Koblenzer channel Kanal 10. In Summer 1997 he presented the cooking show Kanal 10-Kochclub. The Kochclub lasted about 30 minutes and amoung others king prawns were made.
