Thousands fans enjoyed Thomas Anders-concert in Estonia

Am 18. Oktober konnte die Estische Bevölkerung zum 3. Mal in ihrem Leben Thomas Anders live in ihrem Heimatland erleben. Vor ca. 4 000 Leuten performte Thomas mit seiner Band meist rhythmische, altbekannte Modern Talking-Hits, wie z.B. Geronimo's Cadillac und In 100 Year. Des Weiteren gab es aber auch einige Songs von Thomas' Solo-Alben.

On October 18th, 2007 Estonian citizens could see and listen to a Thomas Anders performance for the third time in their home country. Approximately 4,000 people could enjoy mostly rhythmical, old and known Modern Talking-hits like Geronimo's Cadillac and In 100 Years. However, also some songs from Thomas' solo-albums were given.

Thomas' Konzert dauerte ca. 1,5 Stunden und er war - wie immer - großartig. Die Altersstruktur der Konzertbesucher variierte stark. Sehr viele waren im Alter von 35-45 Jahren, wahrscheinlich Fans von Anfang an, aber auch viele jüngere Fans waren dort. Sie bevorzugten es, direkt vor der Bühne zu stehen.

Thomas' concert lasts almost 1.5 hours and he was great like always. Visitors in concert were from different age. Very many people about 35-45 years old - probably fans of Modern Talking from their beginning times 1984. But also were there younger generation, who preferred standing in front of the stage.

Ich sah Thomas vor 20 Jahren zum 1. Mal live auf der Bühne. Mit 16 (!) Jahren reiste ich dafür extra nach Leningrad/Russland (heute St. Petersburg). Im Vergleich zu diesem Konzert hat sich heute einiges geändert. - Es scheint, als ob Thomas es mittlerweile vorziehen zu würde, mehr rhythmische Songs zu singen. Jetzt in Tallinn, zum Beispiel, gab es nur eine einzige Ballade - Give Me Peace On Earth. Ich finde das ein wenig schade, da langsame, melodische Balladen eine größere Chance bieten, die Stimme des Sängers in all seinen Schattierungen darzubieten. Und Thomas' tolle Stimme ist es wert Songs zu performen. Ich erinnere mich immer noch gerne daran, WIE Thomas 1987 in Russland Barry Manilow's Could It Be Magic sang. Er bot es unbeschreiblich perfekt dar! Dieser Song und Thomas' Stil brachten das absolut Perfekte aus seiner einzigartigen Stimme hervor. - Und es klang harmonisch mit seiner sanften Aussprache der Englischen Sprache. Ich wünschte, Thomas würde mehr solcher langsamen melodischen Balladen singen. Rhythmische Tanzmusik erweckt einen falschen Eindruck von seiner Stimme, als sei er lediglich ein mittelmäßig talentierter Sänger. Aber er ist viel viel besser als das. Er hat eine wunderbare Stimme und ist sehr talentiert.

In comparison to this concert in Leningrad/Russia (nowadays St. Petersburg) 20 years ago, when I had the chance to see him on stage for the first time in my life (I was 16 J), some things have been changed. - It seems, that latest years Thomas prefer to sing more rhythmical songs, kind of dancing music. This year's concert-program included only one ballade - Give Me Peace On Earth. This is a little bit sad, because slow, melodically ballades are giving more chance to bring out vocalists voice and shades/nuances his singing accomplishment. And certainly, Thomas' pure and clear, heavenly voice and singing-skills are really valuable and worth to performing. I'll always remember, HOW Thomas sang Barry Manilow's ballade Could It Be Magic on 1987 in Russia. He performed it so incredible perfectly! That song and Thomas' singing-style brought out in best way his unique voice and ability to improvise. Also with it sounded harmoniously his typical soft English-pronunciation. I wish, Thomas would sing more slow melodically ballades, which brings out the best of his talent. Rhythmical dancing music may give a wrong impression, like Thomas being some kind of middling average singer. But he is much, much better than that. He has most beautiful voice and he is very talented singer.

Des Weiteren kommuniziert Thomas viel mehr mit den Konzertbesuchern als vorher und widmet ihnen mehr Aufmerksamkeit. So waren wir zum Beispiel sehr erfreut zu hören, dass Thomas gelernt hatte, wie man sich in unserer Sprache bedankt. Zudem zeigte er Interesse an uns, denn bei der Ankündigung von Give Me Peace On Earth erzählte er uns, wie wichtig es ist, in Frieden und Harmonie mit anderen Leuten zu leben - und zwar unabhängig von der Nationalität, der Religion oder anderen Unterschieden. Er ermahnte uns jeden, mit dem wir den Planeten teilen, zu lieben und achten. - Eine sehr wichtige Botschaft, die für uns Esten zur richtigen Zeit kam, denn in diesem Jahr gab es in Tallinn einige Vorkommnisse mit Vandalismus und Gewalt aufgrund von unterschiedlichen Nationalitäten.

Furthermore, today Thomas is more opened to communicate with people in his concert and consciously giving some of them more personal attention. So, Estonians, just a small nation, were appreciated, that Thomas has learn, how to say 'thank you' in Estonian language. Additionally, he shows interest in people's life what he proved when he announced Give Me Peace On Earth. He told us how important it is to live in peace and harmony no matters of people's nation, religion or some other kind of differences. He proclaimed to us to love, hold and respect everyone with whom we share our planet. It was an important message and it came on a right time to Estonian citizens, because in this year we had in Tallinnn an experience of disorder, vandalism and violence because of nation differences.

Im übrigen denke ich, dass eine Art persönlicher Erfahrung mit seinem Lieblingssänger für immer klar in der Erinnerung bleiben wird. Sie wird für immer das restliche Leben bereichern. So geht es mir zumindest, wenn meine Gedanken an Tallinn 1990 zurückschweifen. Ich stand damals in der 1. Reihe, genau in der Mitte der Bühne. Nur 3 Meter von Thomas entfernt und betrachtete ihn durch ein Opernglas. Plötzlich schaute mir Thomas mit seinen braunen Augen direkt in meine Augen. Spontan flossen bei mir die Tränen. - Mich in der 1. Reihe mit Opernglas zu sehen, brachte ihn fast zu lachen. Aber als Profi widerstand er dem Gefühl und begann zu singen. Ich sah, dass es nicht einfach für ihn war! J Den zweiten unvergesslichen Augenblick erlebte ich auch in diesem Konzert. In der Nacht vor dem Konzert träumte ich von einem Blumenstrauß. Am nächsten Tag fand ich genau die Blumen aus dem Traum (Narzissen) und band sie genauso, wie ich es im Traum gesehen hatte. - Dieser Strauß war später der Einzige, den Thomas für fast einen ganzen Song in Händen hielt! Natürlich war ich von diesen "Begegnungen" sehr berüht.

Any kind of 'personal touch' from ones favourite singer will clearly stay in memory and influenced heart-warmingly for the rest of receivers life. It brought me back memories of the first Thomas' concert in Tallinnn on 1990, when I stood in front of the stage on first row in the centre, only 3 meters distance from my favourite singer and looking him with opera-classes. Suddenly Thomas looked at me straight to my eyes with his deep and warm brown eyes, which spontaneously started my tears flowing. Seen picture from that situation, with binocular on the first row, made Thomas laugh. But as professional, he was able to suppress laughing and start singing. I saw, it was not very easy for him that moment. :-) Or second unforgettable moment from the same concert. In the last night before Thomas' concert I saw in my dream what kind of flower-bunch I should bring him to thank him for singing to us. I found the right flowers - 10 daffodils and 2 white trumpet-shaped narcissuses and made exactly that kind of bunch of them, as I saw it in my dream. Those flowers were the only one, what Thomas held in his arms during nearly one entire song. Of course I was very moved from both of these 'personal touches' Thomas gave me. J

- Thomas, vielen Dank für all die Momente, die Du mit uns teilst. Sie machen uns emotionaler reicher. Danke, dass Du uns zu einer besseren Person machst. Vergiss nicht bald wieder nach Estland zu kommen!
